Add Mischa Barton to the DUI list

Breaking news: Mischa Barton was arrested on suspicion of DUI, possession of narcotics and driving on a suspended license last night. In her mug shot, at right, she appears to be a bit disheveled and glassy-eyed.

According to this press release issued by the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, the former "O.C." star was pulled over around 2:45 AM as she was driving in West Hollywood, Calif. The report said she "was seen straddling two lanes of traffic and failed to signal when making a turn." Deputies pulled her over and determined that she "was an unlicensed driver and was driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage."

Barton was released from custody this morning after being held on $10,000 bail. The L.A. County Sheriffs' Inmate Information website called her "Mischa Burton." Sources said Mischa was "very cooperative" and "no trouble at all."

Jessica Alba said sex scenes on the set of 'Good Luck Chuck' with co-star Dane Cook resulted in a bruised lip and broken tooth.

Alba told TV show Extra: "We shot all our love scenes in one day and I actually lost a tooth. I chipped a tooth as well so I need to get that fixed. Isn't that disgusting?"

"We were smashing our faces together and it just happened. It's not the slowest, most romantic of love scenes. Dane's a wild one."

In the film, Cook plays a guy whose ex-girlfriends end up marrying the next man they meet after dumping him.

Despite her dental injuries, Alba, 24, insists Cook was a fantastic leading man.

Lindsay Lohan selling her Hollywood pad

Lindsay Lohan is hoping to get $2.8 million for a lavish three bedroom pad just off West Hollywood's Sunset Strip -- in part to get away from an alleged stalker.

Lindsay bought the home in Sierra Towers -- which also boasts Cher and Matthew Perry as residents -- in 2005 for just $1.9 million but never moved in. One Los Angeles real estate agent told People magazine: "It was an investment. She'll make a nice turnaround."

Instead, the 20-year-old took up residence in the renowned Chateau Marmont hotel.

Lohan reportedly hopes the move will help put her stalker off the scent. The actress has been receiving letters from a male fan giving her his name and phone number and begging for them to meet up. According to reports, the same person has been sending bunches of flowers to the 20-year-old star on the set of her new movie 'Georgia Rule'. As a result of the unwanted attention, Lindsay has been forced to beef up her security.

Bruce Springsteen has reportedly split from Patti Scialfa, his wife of 20 years, to shack up with a 9/11 widow.

Friends of the rocker claim Springsteen and Scialfa had separated in secret after he fell for a redhead he met when he organized a September 11th telethon, America: A Tribute To Heroes.

A source tells the New York Post newspaper, "They're separated, but everyone has been sworn to secrecy. We're not supposed to talk about it."

Although Springsteen enjoyed a recent vacation with Scialfa and their three children, he has been spotted near his New Jersey home with the mystery woman.

Nick Lachey says bumping into ex-wife Jessica Simpson at the Teen Choice Awards was 'awkward'.

The former 98 Degrees frontman was at the event in Los Angeles last night, which was hosted by Jessica, to accept the Best Love Song award for his hit 'What's Left of Me'.

As he picked up his prize, a fan in the audience yelled: "Take that, Jessica." Meanwhile, the FOX TV network -- who broadcast the ceremony live -- were forced to drop the sound when Britney Spears' husband Kevin Federline launched into a string of obscenities when he closed the ceremony with a performance of his debut hip-hop single 'Lose Control'.

'American Idol' judge Paula Abdul wasn't impressed by what she heard of K-Fed, saying: "The person I feel saddest for is Britney." The show's big winner was the summer blockbuster movie 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest'. The swashbuckling Disney film walked away with 17 awards. The crowd at the Gibson Amphitheatre went wild when co-stars Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp turned up to collect the gongs.

Billy Joel is providing ex-wife Christie Brinkley with a shoulder to cry on following her split from architect Peter Cook, according to the gossip mill.

Brinkley and Cook's 10 year union ended last month after the former model discovered he had had an affair with his teenage assistant Diana Bianchi. Cook has since been accused of a number of other affairs.

Despite having divorced Joel in 1995 -- the couple's 20-year-old daughter Alexa said the piano man has reached out to his ex-wife to offer support.

"It's nice to see that, in times like this when something hard comes down on my mum, my dad will be there -- and likewise. Right now my dad is very, like, 'If there's anything she needs, let me know...' "I need that sense that my parents care about each other, and they do. Christina Aguilera fears heart attack?

Christina Aguilera has given up junk food -- allegedly because she is paranoid she will have a heart attack.

The 'Dirrty' singer is a self-confessed junk food addict, but insists she only eats it very rarely she is too worried about the health implications of munching on it.

She told Britain's TV Hits magazine: "I am a junk food lover but I've had to curb that quite a bit since I'm not a teenager any more. I think it's important to take care of yourself, especially as a woman. Mostly I think it's really about curbing that so you don't get heart disease or cancer or anything like that."

Aguilera, who is married to music executive Jordan Bratman, puts herself through a gruelling exercise regime and sticks to a reasonably strict diet to make sure she doesn't get fat.

She added: "I'm just trying to take care of myself, trying to get as much rest as possible, exercising every day and being healthy and getting my beauty sleep. I do a lot of weight training and some cardio -- I like feeling strong."

Macpherson: I am 'The Body'

Elle Macpherson has accused fellow supermodel Heidi Klum of stealing her nickname, after the German catwalk queen called herself "The Body" in a television commercial.

Macpherson has used the moniker since it was employed to describe her in a Time magazine cover story in 1986.

So she was baffled by the ad for Victoria's Secret's The Body bra, in which Klum claims, "They call me The Body -- and now I have a bra named after me."

A representative for Macpherson's underwear company, Elle Macpherson Intimates, tells the New York Daily News, "We saw that and were like, 'Oh my god!' We were initially flabbergasted.

"We have numerous press clippings in the office referring to her as 'The Body'. Everything from Harper's Bazaar to Vogue to the recent Sports Illustrated calls her that. In terms of public record, that name belongs to Elle."

The 43-year-old Aussie is particularly riled because she uses her moniker on a range of products, including skin-care line Elle Macpherson The Body, her lingerie brand and a fitness video.

Hilton to bury her goat next to Marilyn?

Paris Hilton has bought the plot next to Marilyn Monroe's grave to bury her pet goat.

The celebutante bought the plot in Hollywood's Pierce Bros Westwood Village Memorial Park under the name "Billy Hilton" -- which, as it turns out, is a goat. The goat will share the cemetery with Hollywood legends Truman Capote, Dean Martin and Jack Lemmon, among others.

The animal-loving hotel heiress has many pets including two chihuahuas, a ferret, a monkey and the aforementioned goat.

Hilton was in fact recently bitten on the arm by Baby Luv, her kinkajou monkey. She had been playing with the simian when it turned nasty and decided take a chunk out of her. Although getting only a superficial wound, Hilton was seen by a doctor and given a tetanus jab to stop the bite from becoming infected.

No word on whther she has purchased a plot for Baby Luv.

Candy Spelling nixes tribute to Aaron?

According to various reports, Tori Spelling's plans for a tribute to her late father have been nixed by her mother.

Candy Spelling apparently refused to release clips of Aaron Spelling's work for a tribute show -- when she found out Tori would be presenting it!

The project, documenting the work of the legendary TV producer who died in June, has now been dropped by TV network ABC. A source was quoted by People magazine as saying: "All of Aaron's stars had signed on and some interviews had already been taped. But Candy wouldn't release the clips of his shows because Tori was involved in the project." Tori had planned to be the host and executive producer of the show.

The mother and daughter have had a strained relationship for years, but it has become worse since the 83-year-old producer died after a lengthy illness. He gained fame -- and remarkable wealth -- for creating the shows 'Love Boat',' Charlie's Angels', 'Dynasty' and 'Beverly Hills, 90210'.

A spokesman for Candy Spelling said: "She talked to ABC about releasing the clips for the tribute but she didn't feel the timing was right, since the Emmys were doing a big tribute to her husband around the same time.

"She had nothing to do with this except that she was asked to release the clips and she didn't think it was the right time, so she turned them down."

Kevin Smith gets cheeky offer

Director Kevin Smith was left red-faced after a female fan asked him to sign her derriere.

The filmmaker, whose movies include 'Dogma' and flop 'Jersey Girl', was attending a screening of his cult film 'Clerks', in his hometown of New Jersey when he was asked to put pen to cheek.

During a question-and-answer session with fans an attractive young woman approached Smith and said: "I need you to sign my ass", explaining it was so she could get it tattooed later.

However, embarrassed Smith declined her unusual request, saying: "I don't sign body parts ma'am." The director, who was good natured throughout, also refused to read scripts many fans had brought along to show their idol.

Smith jokingly said to one fledgling writer: "I don't want to read your script dude. I don't even want to read my own scripts."

J.Lo to JR: I'm out

Jennifer Lopez has dropped out of 'Dallas'.

Lopez -- who was set to play JR Ewing's troubled wife Sue Ellen in the adaptation of 70's cult drama -- has reportedly quit the project.

Lopez's representative, Sloane Zelnick confirmed her departure saying: "She is out of 'Dallas'."

The movie ran into trouble earlier this year when director Robert Luketic quit due to "creative differences". The delayed casting for the part of glamorous Lucy Ewing has also caused mayhem. The desirable role finally went to Katie Cassidy, despite Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson allegedly competing for the part.

Despite recent turmoil, the film has kept its biggest star so far -- John Travolta, who stars as JR Ewing.

Aarghh! Depp records sea shanties

Johnny Depp has recorded a star-studded album of sea shanties that will be included in the third and final final installment of Pirates of the Caribbean.

The actor joined with Bryan Ferry, Bono and folk singer Eliza Carthy to record the songs, which will also be released on CD.

Depp had hoped to get Keith Richards to involved, but the Rolling Stones guitarist -- who will play Depp's father in the last film -- injured himself falling from a tree just before recording began.

"It was Johnny's idea," said Carthy. "He thought that pirates should be singing these tunes on the boat during the film. The producers liked the idea and let him record this album."

Nicole Richie has been rocked by a n-u-d-e photo scandal, with photographs of the socialite and her celebrity friends set to be leaked on to the Web.

According to sources, the skinny star, 24, is scared stiff raunchy shots of her will be circulated after she lost her camera at nightspot Guy’s in LA recently.

“Nicole had been experimenting and had a memory card full of s-e-x-y n-u-d-e photos of her and a lot of friends,” says a source. “They’d be embarrassed if they got out.”

Nicole was partying with pals -- including Lindsay Lohan and ex-boyfriend Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM -- at a karaoke night at the West Hollywood hot spot when she lost the camera containing the saucy shots.

“They were having fun and then suddenly she’s freaking out after she realises the camera’s gone,” says a source.

Realising what could happen if it landed in the wrong lap, Nicole panicked.

“Immediately, she’s demanding the bar staff shut off the karaoke, turn on the lights and get everyone to search for the camera,” says one source.

“It was pretty funny,” adds another. “Here are all these A-listers – and their bags are getting searched. Nicole was in the corner going totally nuts and losing it.”

However, despite a massive hunt forthe camera, it was never found.

As we said, this smells like a great publicity stunt.

Pamela Anderson -- er, scratch that -- Pamela Anderson Rock is said to be certifiably ecstatic following her weekend wedding to Kid Rock, but is dismayed over the paparazzi taking "the ugliest pictures" of her.

Photographs of the former Baywatch babe partying onboard a yacht with her new husband appeared in newspapers yesterday, and Anderson admits she wasn't thrilled with the publications' choice of images.

She writes in her online diary:

"Now I'm definitely rocking the most... MRS ROCK... From Vegas to New York to St. Tropez. I was so happy to finally get here. But now I can't wait to get away from these paparazzi -- I swear they just wait for the ugliest pictures to take. The best most romantic wedding of all time. Rock n roll wedding. Hollywood to Lohan: Grow up!

Lindsay Lohan got reamed in a letter from studio brass for her "all night heavy partying" and failure to show up to work on the film 'Georgia Rule'.

A letter from James G. Robinson, CEO of Morgan Creek Production, pretty much spells out what we've known for some time: Lohan is a skank all-night party bitch!

The letter was revealed on the Smoking Gun web site.

Quote: "We are well aware that your ongoing all night heavy partying is the real reason for your so-called 'exhaustion'. We refuse to accept bogus excuses for your behavior."

And, furthermore: "You have acted like a spoiled child and in doing so have alienated many of your co-workers and endangered the quality of this picture."

E! Entertainment Television has announced it will offer "The Simple Life: 'Til Death Do Us Part" and "Girls Next Door" on iTunes.

The network has entered a deal with Apple Computer to offer select shows for download on the iTunes store. Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton's show, "The Simple Life: 'Til Death Do Us Part," as well as Hugh Hefner's behind-the-scenes look at Playboy Mansion life in "The Girls Next Door," will be available for $1.99 per download.

"The Soup," E!'s celebrity news and pop-culture mash-up, and plastic-surgery reality program "Dr. 90210," are also available.

"Girls Next Door" has it's season premiere this Sunday.

Hilton, Richie to kiss and make up?

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are set to publicly end their two-year feud as guests on The Late Show with David Letterman.

Letterman has reportedly offered to play peacekeeper after inviting "The Simple Life" stars to appear together on his program in September.

The two fell out amid reports Richie aired a private viewing of Hilton's controversial sex tape. Both girls have refused to go into detail about their feud, with Hilton repeatedly telling journalists, "She knows what she did." Hilton and Richie agreed to team up on TV again for the third season of reality show The Simple Life - but refused to work together onscreen.

Tori Spelling was expecting perhaps $200 million from her late father's estate -- legendary TV producer Aaron Spelling. Instead she got the shaft.

The actress will get a $200,000 cash inheritance and around $600,000 in private investments -- just 0.16 per cent of her father's assets of more than $500 million.

Spelling is said to be mighty pissed that her mother's home decorator, Robert Dolley, was left $50,000 and her manicurist, Ernestine Young, will get $25,000.

The elder Spelling decided to cut Tori out of his will just months before he died. The pair reportedly had a dramatic falling out when Tori confronted him about her mother Candy's alleged affair. The two refused to speak to each other for nine months -- but Tori insists she made up with her father on his death bed.

Ken Baker, an editor at Us Weekly, said: "Alzheimer's was listed as a contributing factor in his death so he may not have been of sound mind when he revised the will.

"Tori, I'm told, will contest the will. However, the will has a no contest clause, so it could be a really messy fight."

Lohan collapses on movie set

Lindsay Lohan was hospitalized yesterday after collapsing on the set of her new movie. The actress was in Los Angeles shooting 'Georgia Rule' when she fainted -- allegedly after a long night of partying.

The 20-year-old was seen with boyfriend Harry Morton on Tuesday night, and when she arrived on set the following morning she was "overheated and dehydrated".

Her representative, Leslie Sloane Zelnick, denies Lindsay collapsed because she had partied too hard and insists the intense California heat was to blame.

She told 'The Insider' website: "She was filming in 105-degree weather for 12 hours." The redhead was given a vitamin B shot at the hospital and released a few hours later.

This is not the first time Lindsay has collapsed on set. She was also hospitalized last year for a swollen liver and kidney infection while filming 'Just My Luck'.

The singer's contract for her Confessions world tour reportedly demands that a new toilet seat -- wrapped in plastic -- is delivered to her handlers upon her arrival at a venue and that no-one else be allowed to sit on it.

Other stipulations on the throne include that it be disposed of immediately after the show, and that no one can sell it on eBay.

Madonna's representative, Liz Rosenberg, confirmed the bizarre request: "I don't know if anyone helps her wipe but there are probably people who would volunteer."

Well, we have arrived safe and sound in La La Land after an all-too-brief excursion to Vegas over the weekend.

Like jumping from the frying pan into the fire!

We kept our cool in Vegas by staying inside and drinking lots of rum, and venturing out to the pool from time to time to take a dip. After dark we hit the club scene for some serious partying. Unfortunately there were no Paris sightings, only the usual B-list (and lesser) celebs out and about. We'd tell you more, but you know the Vegas motto...

So, here we are back at StarChatter central trying to beat the heat (and hoping the power outages don't hit) while we noodle around the usual gossip mills to keep you up-to-date on the latest celebrity buzz.

Tina Fey is leaving "Saturday Night Live" after a nine year run.

Fey, who both writes and performs on the show, anchoring the Weekend Update segment, is in preparations for a fall launch of her new sitcom, "30 Rock".

No announcement has been made on Fey's replacement, and the announcement is said to have left the program's producers scrambling to rethink the Weekend Update slot, which Fey co-presents with Amy Poehler. The show enters its 31st season in September.

Fey told the New York Daily News, "I think I'm out of the fake news business for a while."

Christina Aguilera has had her nipple piercing removed -- reportedly out of respect for her husband and contrary to her earlier statements that she wouldn't change for marriage.

The 'Dirrty' singer -- who at one time boasted multiple piercings, including ones on her, uh, snatch, -- once vowed she would always keep her nipple ring "for herself".

But recent pictures of Aguilera dressed in a see-through top showed no sign of the ring (click the photo at right to do your own inspection). It's rumored that the 25-year-old singer got it removed for her music executive husband, Jordan Bratman.

A source said: "Now she's married, Christina has decided to remove her right nipple ring -- the last of what used to be 12 piercings."

Aguilera once claimed that she would not tone down her raunchy image just because she had gotten married.

"Being sexual is a huge part of my artistry and who I am as a woman. When I am sexual in my lyrics or videos, it's because I am being honest. I'm in favour of any woman being proud of her body."

Former Bond girl Denise Richards -- who posed for Playboy magazine in 2004 -- will get naked for the July issue of 'Jane' to raise money for the Clothes Off Our Back foundation.

Said Richards: "I am not quite sure what I will be wearing. I think I will be wearing clear balloons. 'Jane' has done this before, so I think it will be a pretty issue."

Richards -- the estranged wife of actor Charlie Sheen and main squeeze of rocker Richie Sambora -- insists she wasn't worried about baring it all, regardless of the fact that she's a mother of two.

"I ate my face off" prior to the shoot, she said.

The magazine will feature a number of other celebs in the buff, including Heidi Klum, Jenna Fisher, Sanaa Lathan, Gretchen Bleiler, Rachel Blanchard, Rachel Miner and Brittany Snows.

The actor said he fell in love with the idyllic islands after filming the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' there. He will reportedly leave his home in France to live there with his partner Vanessa Paradis and their two children.

Depp insists he and Vanessa will divide their time between their new home, the US and France so their children learn about different cultures.

Hilton also recently revealed she thinks one-night stands are "gross".

Dash played trendy teenager Dionne in the Alicia Silverstone hit when she was actually in her late 20s. Now 40, she has appeared in a string of unremarkable films and hopes to revive her fortunes by baring all.

Dash will reportedly appear in a spread in the August 2006 issue of the popular men's magazine. She has previously appeared in various stages of undress — semi-nude, if you prefer — in a 2004 edition of Smooth magazine. (See photo at right.)

Lohan, 20, has allegedly been so inspired by the teachings of the pop-religion that she is leaving the Catholic Church. As part of her conversion, the 'Mean Girls' star will take on the name "Rose", gossip has it.

"Yes, I am looking into Kabbalah. All of us need something. You have to grab on to whatever gets you through," Lohan said.

Rob Shuter, Simpson’s publicist, said that Ashlee did indeed receive an offer to show off her assets in the men's mag, but turned down the offer.

You've seen the recent photos of Britney as a brunette -- now we find out that she apparently did the hair job as part of a pictorial for Bazaar magazine.

The photo spread, which will appear in the August edition of the fashion magazine, shows off not just Spears' newly minted hair, but a a few more of the pop queen's assets as well.

Nicole Kidman arrived for her wedding to Keith Urban Sunday dressed in a white Balenciaga gown and veil and clutching a posy of white roses. She was accompanied by her father, Antony, in a creme-colored Rolls Royce.

The ceremony was held in a small chapel on the grounds of St. Patrick's College in Manly, Australia -- a suburb of Sydney.

Church bells rang out about 90 minutes after Kidman's arrival, indicating the end of the ceremony. Thousands of onlookers lining the streets leading to the cliff-top church cheered, while helicopters buzzed overhead.

The newlyweds issued a statement afterward: "We just want to thank everyone in Australia and around the world who have sent us their warm wishes."

Beth Ostrosky rockets up the Buzz

Nicole Kidman knows what the paparazzi like: beer.

About 20 photographers camped outside her Sydney, Australia, home were treated to a case of cold Victoria Bitter beer and a few bottles of water yesterday.

On the case of brewski was a note: "Enjoy!, Nicole and Keith".

The Keith is of course Keith Urban. Kidman and Urban arrived in Sydney on Monday saying they had returned to Australia to be married.

On this bubbly news, all StarChatter can say is "Cheers!"

Kidman-Urban wedding confirmed

Nicole Kidman's publicist has confirmed that the actress will wed country crooner Keith Urban in Australia, possibly as early as this weekend.

"We are very happy to be back in Australia. We have come home to celebrate our wedding with our family and friends," said Kidman and Urban in a statement released today.

Speculation is that Kidman and Urban will marry at a Catholic church in a northern Sydney suburb on June 25. Sydney's The Morning Herald reports that attendees may include Naomi Watts, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Baz Luhrmann and Rupert Murdoch.

Also according to reports, the couple intend to live in Nashville, Tennessee, where the Grammy-winning Urban is based.

Jodie Sweetin to watch others undress

Joely Fisher gets a major buzz

The search site's Buzz Index indicates that actress Joely Fisher topped the charts with a 2118% one-day jump, beating out the likes of of Daryl Hannah (tree sitter), Jennifer Beals (Flashdance lawsuit) and Teri Hatcher (general hotness).

We scratched our heads a bit on this news. The auburn-haired TV actress, perhaps best known for her supporting role opposite Ellen DeGeneres in the comedy "Ellen", has been somewhat out of the limelight of late. Then we remembered: she'll have a lead role in this fall's Fox comedy " 'Til Death" with Brad Garrett. The previews look pretty funny, so perhaps the buzz is the result of the promos.

Still, she didn't exactly drop a baby -- or shack up with Brad Pitt and run off to Namibia.

Score one for the PR crew at Fox.

Britney: "I'm human!"

So Britney sat down with Matt Lauer to talk about the paparazzi, marriage and motherhood -- and to shed a few tears.

The "Bride of Federline" said her marriage was strong despite rumors to the contrary. But, she admitted: "I'm an emotional wreck right now."

She said the paparazzi and the press have made her out to be some sort of monster. Matt asked: "If you could talk to them as individuals, not as a group, what would you say to 'em?"

Said Britney: "We just need privacy and we need our respect. And -- and those are things that you have to have as a human being."

Daryl Hannah treed

One-time mermaid Daryl Hannah was arrested Tuesday during a protest in L.A.

Hannah and more than a dozen others were arrested while protesting the the closing of a 14-acre urban community garden slated to be replaced with a warehouse and other commercial development by the landowner.

According to reports, Hannah and famous tree sitter John Quigley raised their fists as authorities used a fire truck lift to bring them down from a walnut tree towering over the green swath in a gritty area southeast of downtown Los Angeles.

"I'm very confident this is the morally right thing to do, to take a principled stand in solidarity with the farmers," Hannah told The Associated Press in a cell phone call before officials reached her perch and arrested her.

Seventeen arrests were made inside the garden for investigation of failure to obey a court order and for obstructing sheriff's deputies trying to carry out the order, according to the sherrif's department.

Well, as if anyone but we StarChatters care, it appears that Jenny McCarthy (former Playboy model, former blonde-then-brunette-then blonde-again bimbo) has teamed up with Jim Carrey.

According to a vapid report by PEOPLE magazine, the two have been spotted together at various southern California locales, including a tony L.A. restaurant.

McCarthy, who divorced her husband director John Asher, last year, is promoting her newest book, Life Laughs: The Naked Truth About Motherhood, Marriage and Moving On.

Nothing like a little rumor of a celebrity pairing to pump up book sales. Let's just see if this thing has legs.

Jaime Pressley: caught in the buff

"My Name is Earl" actress Jaime Pressley has gotten a bit of overexposure recently after the publication of several photo shoots featuring her in various states of undress.

Pressley apparently had a rising career as a nude model prior to getting bit by the acting bug. Men's Magazine "Ultra" put Pressley on the cover in the May edition, and featured what it called "rare nude photos", most of which looked at least several years old. Additional photos have popped up on web sites.

While there's been no report of legal threats or other attempts to stop the publication by Pressley or her representatives, one wonders whether the execs at NBC knew about her modeling career. They certainly know now, and as the old adage goes, there ain't no thing as bad publicity.

Olivia Newton-John's boyfriend un-dead?

From the Not-Dead-Yet Department: According to news reports out of Australia, witnesses in Mexico claim to have seen Olivia Newton-John's missing boyfriend, who was reported to have fallen overboard during a deep-sea fishing trip last year.

Patrick McDermott supposedly disappeared on June 30, 2005, while on an overnight fishing trip out of San Pedro, California. News reports revealed that he had amassed huge debts and faced possible jail time over child support he owed his former wife, actress Yvette Nipar.

But according to a story on Monday in Australia's Daily Telegraph, McDermott has been seen by witnesses in Mexico's Baja Peninsula as recently as a few weeks ago.

Manuel Valdez, owner of a bar north of the Mexican resort town of Cabo San Lucas, told the paper he saw McDermott several months ago and was struck by McDermott's mood, saying "it was one of those situations where you don't know if the person is on drugs or normally quiet."

Newton-John, 57, was at a health retreat she owns in Australia when she learned of McDermott's disappearance. She later told the hosts of The View that her initial reaction to hearing about McDermott was utter shock. "I was just kind of frozen. … But you have to move on. I didn't think I was going to sing again, but I am singing again."

Urban in Playgirl: glad he had guitar

Australian country singer Keith Urban wishes he could turn back time because he regrets posing nude for Playgirl magazine.

The 38-year-old musician, who is currently romancing Nicole Kidman, was able to maintain at least some modicum of modesty with the help of a guitar -- but still looks back on the April 2001 photoshoot with disgust.

"I look back on it and I go, 'That probably wasn't a great idea.' But I was sort of swayed by the record company that this would be a good thing," he said.

"It's not the full monty and, hey, it could get a whole load of people going out and buying your record, they told me.

"But I look back now and wish I hadn't done it. There are some things in your career you wish you hadn't done, so there it is."

We're betting Kidman probably thinks otherwise.

Daughtry: No Fuel for now

American Idol castoff Chris Daughtry has turned down an offer to become the lead singer for the rock band Fuel.

"I'm going to be doing my own thing," Daughtry, a 26-year-old from McLeansville, N.C., told The Charlotte Observer on Saturday.

The band had offered Daughtry the job just hours after his elimination from the popular show last month. Daughtry's hard rock vocals would have made him a perfect fit for the band, said some. Fuel's bass player Jeff Abercrombie and guitarist Carl Bell said Daughtry was invited to replace singer Brett Scallions, who quit in February.

Daughtry said he expects to announce his next career move after this summer's American Idol concert tour ends. He told The Charlotte Observer he'd met with entertainment executives last week in New York and seen a Pearl Jam concert.

StarChatter thinks Oprah is about as close to death as Liz Taylor was on Larry King the other night. Which ain't very close at all.

Simple Life: Paris, Nicole ride again

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie will once again prance about half naked and drip innuendo on unsuspecting bystanders in a fourth season of "The Simple Life" scheduled to be broadcast on E! beginning June 4.

Interestingly, the duo, who reportedly can't stand the sight of one another, have been filming their segments seperately.

Subtitled "'Til Death Do Us Part", the latest installment of the cheeky seriees features the celebutantes infiltrating families for the usual insulting but presumably harmless fun. The first episode, according to E!, finds Paris and Nicole (separately) wearing a pregnant suit, cleaning house and babysitting a 3-year-old. The second episode has the duo infiltrating a Pakistani-American family to trivialize their religion, ruin their kitchen and corrupt their teenage son.

With any luck, Nicole has conquered her rumored eating disorder and put on a few pounds.

Anna Nicole Smith confirms pregnancy

According to a report on TMZ, Hilton sang a cover of Rod Stewart's 'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy' on Sunday night at a Madonna concert afterparty at Tao in Las Vegas.

Said the report: "The hotel heiress, who has an album coming out soon, danced on stage and flashed her backside giving the audience, which included her parents and sister Nicky, a full-moon view."

Nice.

Hilton has said her upcoming album will be a mix of reggae, pop and hip-hop, with the first single being a reggae song called, "Stars Are Blind."

LEt's just hope this star isn't tone-deaf, too.

Jailbird LOST star set free

Former LOST star Michelle Rodriguez was issued a figurative Get Out of Jail Free card: the actress was released from Los Angeles County Jail on Thursday after serving a mere four hours and 20 minutes of her two-month jail sentence.

"Our prosecutors are not happy about it, but that is the sad reality of our overcrowded jails," said the Los Angeles County district attorney's spokeswoman Contessa Mankiewicz.

Rodriguez was sentenced to 60 days in jail for violating probation due to a DUI arrest in Hawaii. On the night of her release she was spotted at the Tropicana Bar at the Roosevelt Hotel, and later on Monday night at the Hollywood club Shag.

Instead of jail, Rodriguez, 27, must now perform 30 days of community service and serve two years probation.

Shiloh Brangelina?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have continued the Hollywood tradition of using really dumb names for kids: Their newborn daughter has been named -- get ready -- Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt.

Catchy name. For a DISEASE.

Shiloh will vie with Maddox, 4, and Zahara, 1, for attention in the Jolie-Pitt Household.

The name Shiloh has a longstanding translation from the Bible that means "the peaceful one". This is not to be confused with the Civil War battle of Shiloh, where more than 20,000 troops were killed.

The couple's next child will reportedly be named "Chernobyl Blowdupski Jolie-Pitt".

Teri Hatcher to play mom

Teri Hatcher will lend her voice to the animated flick 'Coraline', playing the mother of a little girl who steps into a world that appears to be a much better version of her own reality.

Based on Neil Gaiman's short children's novel of the same name, Coraline is a young bored girl who discovers that bricked-up wall behind a door in her flat leads to another world, with another mother, and another father. The animated film features Dakota Fanning as the voice of the little girl.

The animated film is currently in production and is set for a 2007 release.

Costner and wife splitting?

Paul Bloch released the following statement concerning the rumor: "The story is false. They sold their house in Hollywood and they are moving to Santa Barbara. Kevin is on location and Christine is getting the house ready.

"Christine Costner is on her way to Shreveport where Kevin Costner is shooting 'Mr. Brooks.' They'll both then go to Providence, RI for daughter Annie's graduation from Brown University. The Costners will then head back to Los Angeles where Kevin will continue to help Christine with the move. After that, Kevin will go back and finish shooting the remaining several weeks of 'Mr. Brooks.'"

Mischa Barton: better off dead

According to a report in Newsweek magazine, Mischa Barton says it was better to be killed in a car wreck on "The O.C." than to leave the Fox teen drama in "one of those lame farewells."

Barton's character, Marissa Cooper, died in the arms of ex-boyfriend Ryan Atwood (Benjamin McKenzie) after Ryan lost control of his sport utility vehicle and crashed. The third season's final episode aired last week.

"Well, I was really excited that I get to die, to be honest," the 20-year-old actress told Newsweek.

"I've done pretty much everything else with the character. It was better than one of those lame farewells."

Marissa had been central to "The O.C." since the show's debut in 2003. The Newport Beach teen had battled depression and drug and alcohol abuse, had a brief lesbian relationship and was expelled from her posh high school for shooting a man.

Although rumors flew in recent months that Barton was ready to leave the show, she says her departure was the producers' decision.

Will she ever return to "The O.C." in a dream sequence?

"Oh, God. I hope not. That would be cheesy."

60 days in slammer for Rodriguez

Former LOST star Michelle Rodriguez has been sentenced to 60 days in jail for probation violation.

Rodriguez, 27, was on probation in Los Angeles for charges stemming from two separate incidents that occurred in the Hollywood area in 2003. She violated the terms of her probation when she was pulled over and failed a sobriety test on December 2, 2005 on Kalahiana’ ole Highway. She plead guilty to a DUI and opted to spend five days in jail rather than complete 240 hours of community service.

The Los Angeles charges stemmed from a July 22, 2003 accident when Rodrguez committed a hit-and-run. Then a little less than four months later, on November 4, 2003, she was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Rodriguez must also enter an alcohol rehab program, perform 30 days of community service, and participate in programs run by Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Ah, well. So much for the good life.

Lohan to hit the big screen

According to Variety, Lindsay Lohan and Annette Bening will star in the bigscreen adaptation of Oscar Wilde's "A Woman of No Importance."

Myriad Pictures, which is selling worldwide rights to the picture, is producing with Donald Zuckerman, Sarah Radclyffe and Howard Himelstein. A fall start date is planned.

The film is an adaptation of Wilde's tale about an ambitious young man, Gerald Arbuthnot, who introduces his prospective employer, Lord Illingworth, to his mother. But she realizes that Illingworth is the man who jilted her long ago and is Gerald's father.

Sounds really dull. But with Lindsey Lohan on board, at least the film will be decent to look at.

Manhattan smackdown: Axl vs. Tommy

Apparently Axl Rose and Tommy Hilfiger don't get along.

The rocker and designer topped off a Thursday evening outing at The Plumm in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood with a late night slapfest.

The unrehearsed smackdown reportedly started after the Guns N' Roses front man moved the drink of Hilfiger's girlfriend, Dee Ocleppo.

"I moved his girlfriend's drink so it wouldn't spill," Rose told the Los Angeles radio station KROQ on Friday. "It was the most surreal thing, I think, that's ever happened to me in my life."

According to the 44-year-old singer, Hilfiger, 55, smacked him in the arm and told him to put the drink back.

"He just kept smacking me," Rose said.

Rose was there to play a surprise set for "Rent" actress Rosario Dawson for her 27th birthday party.

The Plumm was jammed with a celebrity crowd including Lenny Kravitz, Mickey Rourke, Kid Rock, Peter Beard, Molly Simms, Wentworth Miller, Ann Dexter Jones, Lydia Hearst and Damon Dash.

Rose did perform, and dedicated the song "You're Crazy" to "my good friend Tommy Hilfiger."
